ABOUT US

Insight 2 Drive

Insight 2 Drive was founded by Kathy Higgins in 2007 with the aim of providing the best possible driving instructor training and nearly 2 decades later, our results and reviews are a testament to this.

As well as high quality instructor training, Insight 2 Drive offers qualified instructors the opportunity to build their own business through supportive franchise opportunities.

Who we are

Kathy Higgins Dip.DI, F Inst MTD, Director

Kathy has grown from being a franchisee of a national driving school to running her own multi-car driving school. She encourages her instructors to engage in regular professional development through free weekly classroom sessions, covering a wide range of topics, from fault identification to multicultural communication, and more.

Kathy has pursued extensive professional development herself, having successfully passed every advanced driving test available. She is also a published author of the book An Insight to Drive. Since 2005, she has been involved with the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) and now serves as a Training Quality Monitor for all police diversionary courses. In addition to her work in driver training, Kathy runs a small business outside the industry. With a great sense of humor, she enjoys working with people.

Kathy is a trustee and Assistant Secretary of Upholland U3A and the Secretary of the Institute of Master Tutors of Driving (IMTD).

In her free time, she enjoys church bell-ringing, walking her dogs, embroidery, singing for fun, baking, and participating in (very) amateur dramatics.

Our Trainers

Leanne Condliff, Trainer with Insight2Drive since 20011

Working most of my younger career in law, I decided to change careers completely and chased a dream within the music industry.
Once gaining the amazing and successful experience, I returned to law, however more so within the IT document section.
It was then I realised I wanted to focus on sharing my knowledge to help those reach a better understanding. It was then that I turned my career to the driving instructor industry… that was back in 2011!
I’ve been told I am very patient, enthusiastic and I explain the training in a way to suit you. I have a great success rate, no matter how hard you make find studying to be. I can help you to reach an understanding for you to feel very much informed.
I have helped train many people from many different walks of life, including an 82 year-old! So, believe me when I say, you can never be too old to learn to try something new. If it helps your independence why not try it today!

I attend many conferences, meetings and CPD courses countrywide on a regular basis.

Aside from my main Instructor job I successfully gained a position within the Institute of Master Driving of Tutors – IMTD as a Minute Secretary.  IMTD holds quarterly meetings in Coventry where many members from all around the country meet to share their vast experience and listen to specialists within their specific field. This not only helps me to gain experience and much knowledge, but also allows me to meet many VIPs of the driving industry.

I am also a Trainer with Insight2drive Training Academy, helping those who would like to change careers and become a Driving Instructor and embark on an amazing career, just like I have. Along with my Trainer colleagues, we help you gain experience and knowledge through your part 3, encourage you to learn more using role play and scenarios and help you reach your ultimate goal.

Katie Dunkerley DVSA ADI

I am a fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI). I also work with the Insight 2 Drive ADI Training Academy as an instructor trainer delivering Part 2 and Part 3 training to trainee driving instructors, and Standards Check development training to qualified ADIs. In my spare time I am a volunteer with my local IAM Roadsmart group (Bolton and District Advanced Motorists), and have completed the group diploma, undertaken in association with Greater Manchester Police Driver Training Unit, passing exams in Highway Code, Roadcraft and a practical exam on a challenging route in the Cheshire countryside, and was awarded the Hugh German Memorial Trophy in recognition of overall performance.

I am continually seeking to develop my skills in both driving and coaching, and I am passionate about road safety.

Colin Chown ADI

Colin has been a driving instructor since May 2004. He was with a major driving school and whilst there achieved the highest grade an instructor could get. He passed his part 2 and 3 at the first attempt. In 2011 he joined Kathy Higgins at Insight2drive. He became an ORDIT (Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers)  instructor in 2012 and has been helping trainees to pass their part 2 and 3 exams.

What he likes to do in his spare time is photography, travel, art and cooking.
